The Georgia Secretary of State's Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies enforces these laws in Georgia; the Board may be reached through their web site or by voice at (912) 207-1460 or facsimile at (912) 207-1468.

Russ Bridgers, Up State Investigative Services' Senior Investigator, has over 28 years' experience in law enforcement, investigations, and security. A synopsis of his career prior to joining Up State Investigative Services includes
  • Joined the Decatur (Georgia) Police Department in 1970 as a photographic evidence technician.
  • After joining the City of Buford (GA) Police Department as a Patrolman, he earned promotion to to Detective Sergeant.
  • With the City of Snellville (GA) Police Department, Mr. Bridgers was promoted to Sergeant First Class; he worked from the Chief's office and handled the Uniform Division and Special Investigations.
  • Subsequently, he became a Sergeant in the City of Chamblee (GA) Police Department in the Special Operations Division, where he was responsible for automobile accident investigation and reconstruction. During this time, he received certification by the State of Georgia to operate Laser and Radar speed detection equipment and Intoximeter breath analyzers.
  • While the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police of Lawrenceville (GA), he received extensive training in computer crimes and data recovery. He also was the City's Project Manager in charge of the development, installation, and operation of the Police Department's extensive fixed and mobile computer systems.
  • Mr. Bridgers' recognized expertise in the areas of police operations, drug enforcement, courtroom testimony, and security led to his certification in 1988 as a State of Georgia Certified Police Instructor. Since his certification, he has worked on and instructed numerous law enforcement training exercises and classes at the Georgia Police Academy.
  • During his career, Mr. Bridgers received several thousand hours of professional training.
Our other investigators are active-duty or retired law enforcement personnel with equally impressive credentials. These men and women qualify for bonded service; are licensed by the State of Georgia and/or other states as appropriate; and in most instances are trained in and licensed to carry firearms.

Selected personnel are trained in the use of specific high technology equipment for computer-associated matters, imagery collection, and audio collection.
